The Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre Raffle sponsored by New Amherst Village will raise funds to spread hope to women and children in need throughout Northumberland County. Tickets will be on sale at the New Amherst Fall Harvest Festival on October 19th or by reaching out to Cornerstone directly. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. Fabulous prizes include:
  • Grand Prize: One of a kind expressionist artwork by accomplished New Amherst Resident, Betsy Miller.
  • And 3 unique prize package experiences to stay in the new Airbnb suites at New Amherst Village.
  • 2nd prize: one night stay at the ClockTower Suites
  • 3rd prize: one night stay at The Wilkins and
  • 4th prize: one night stay at The Carriage House Loft
The Fall Harvest Festival is a free event hosted by New Amherst Village on October 19th from 11am -3pm held at 950 New Amherst Boulevard off Highway 2 in Cobourg. Celebrate Fall and all its bounty at an open air market featuring local artisans, farmers, food vendors and local businesses. There will be Live Music featuring Carl Cotton, Jeff Biggar, Kate Boothman and The Wendy Meadows Trio. Plus, there will be lots of activities for the kids including face painting, pumpkin bowling, scarecrow decorating and tours via Horse Drawn Wagon through the neighbourhood to stop at all 3 Airbnb units. Added fun for Adults includes Warrior Axe Throwing, pie eating contest, Pumpkin carving contest and Northumberland Brewing Company Craft Beer sampling.

The Northumberland Chorus of Sweet Adelines is hosting the 10th Annual Christmas Chorus program this Fall.  It’s a wonderful opportunity for any woman or young lady who enjoys music, to learn to sing a few songs in A Capella four-part harmony, while offering them the experience of performing with our Chorus as a whole, in front of two audiences. We will entertain at the Bethlehem Walk in Cold Springs on November 15 and the Annual Christmas Tea and Show on November 16.  The rehearsals will be held on Monday evenings at Columbus Hall, 232 Spencer St. E., Cobourg, from 7:00 to 8:30 starting October 7 until November 11. Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority's Owl Prowl

Join GRCA outdoor education staff on an exciting evening prowling for owls in the Ganaraska Forest. Start the evening off with a presentation before venturing out on the guided night hike in search of an owl or two. The fee to participate is $15.00 + HST per adult and $10.00 + HST per child (16 & under). Due to the late outdoor activity, all participants must be 8 years of age or older. Spaces are limited.
