We at Theatre Night in Merrickville are producing a a musical written in the seventies by David Fanstone(an Ottawa man) with music by Norm Numi
This musical play revolves around the history of building the Rideau Canal, and the men and women who helped make that happen.
It unfolds through a series of vignettes depicting  life in the work camps, lost loves and poignant dreams.

Chaque année, la Maison des femmes de Drummondville organise une distribution de boucles, bougies et signets durant les 12 jours d’action contre la violence faite aux femmes du 25 novembre au 6 décembre. Cette année, la distribution ayant pour but d’informer, sensibiliser et d’outiller la population de Drummondville se fait le

  • 28 novembre de 10h00 à 18h00 au IGA Extra 

La Maison des femmes invite les Drummondvillois et Drummondvilloises à porter la boucle blanche du 25 novembre au 6 décembre, afin de souligner leur solidarité envers toutes les femmes victimes de violence ou assassinées. De plus, le 6 décembre 2019 à 18h00, les citoyens et citoyennes sont invités à allumer une chandelle à leur fenêtre en signe de commémoration aux 14 victimes de la tuerie de Polytechnique et pour signifier que, même après 30 ans, leur mémoire est préservée et que de tels actes de violence envers les femmes ne doivent plus se reproduire.

La violence envers les femmes, c’est l’affaire de tout le monde!

Grab some friends and uncover the clues to find your missing Hogwarts Express ticket before time runs out in the “Escape to Hogwarts: Harry Potter Breakout Room”!

Join us at the Chatham Branch on open days from December 23 to January 3 for the “Escape to Hogwarts: Harry Potter Breakout Room.” Teams will have 30 minutes to search for clues and solve puzzles that will lead to their missing Hogwarts Express ticket.

Registration is required. Wizards, witches and muggles can register in teams of 2 to 5 at any CKPL branch or online by searching “Escape to Hogwarts” at search.ckpl.ca.  Registration will begin on December 13. Only one person from each group needs to register for a timeslot.
