Museum Windsor is celebrating the launch of Heritage Week with
free admission to both the Chimczuk Museum and the François Baby House on
Saturday, February 16, 2019. This is the perfect opportunity for visitors to explore two new exhibits opening at the Chimczuk Museum:
Questers Collect and Egypt: Gift of the Nile.
For
Questers Collect,
Museum Windsor has collaborated with local Questers to display some of the unique personal collections found in Windsor-Essex County. This exhibit features a wide variety of collections including vintage purses, walking sticks, samplers, uranium glass, beer steins and much more.
Egypt: Gift of the Nile is a travelling exhibit from the Royal Ontario Museum that explores ancient Egyptian life. Some of the topics covered in this exhibit include family life, education, religion, the afterlife and much more. Ancient Egypt visits Windsor for a limited time only, so don’t miss your chance to learn all about this amazing civilization.
There will be many great family friendly activities happening throughout the day:
· Ancient Egyptian themed crafts available all day with a guided craft activity from 12pm-1pm
· Local Questers will be on hand throughout the day to talk about their collections
· Guided tour of both exhibits from 1pm-2pm
· Screening of the PBS Documentary “Secrets of the Dead: Ultimate Tut” at 2pm
