The 15th Annual Book Sale hosted by the Rotary Club of Sarnia-Bluewaterland will take place January 11th to 13th, 2019 at theBayside Centre in Sarnia.  There will be an assortment of over 30,000 used books (both hard and soft cover).  Sunday is "fill a bag for $5" day.  Ther is also free underground parking Friday and Saturday.

The Salvation Army will host its annual Christmas dinner at St. Clair College Centre for the Arts on Wednesday, Dec. 12. More than one hundred volunteers will serve the traditional turkey dinner at 6 p.m. “This event is part of the tradition and fabric of Christmas in Windsor,” says Paul Rideout, executive director of Windsor Centre of Hope. “People living in isolation or low-income families are welcome to come out and enjoy a wonderful meal, beautiful music and fellowship.”   The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope expects to serve about 700 people. “We want those individuals who may be isolated, or without family to come experience Christmas with us,” says Shannon Wise, public relations representative for The Salvation Army. “The Salvation Army will be your family for the night.” The Salvation Army has hosted the annual Christmas dinner for over 20 years in Windsor.

In the Spring of 2019, Old Fort Erie will be presenting a series of four speakers and a re-enactment focused on the 18th Century history of Old Fort Erie. The 1764 fort and the growing community around the military post is the first English settlement in Ontario. The authors will discuss the soldiers, settlers and Indigenous people in the area between 1764 and 1800.
