Huntsville Public Library finds WW1 uniform
The Huntsville Public Library is hoping someone will come forward with information about the owner of what they believe to be a WW1 uniform. If you have information, you can call the library at 705-789-5232.
Women of Distinction Awards 2017
The 16th annual YWCA Muskoka Women of Distinction Awards Gala on Oct. 25 celebrated 20 women across Muskoka and the impact they have on their communities. This is always one of YWCA Muskoka's biggest fundraisers of the year.

Gravenhurst Fire Department receives donation of CO alarms
The family of Nolan Young, who died from carbon monoxide poisoning, donated co alarms to the Gravenhurst Fire Department to help 100 local families. Click here For more information on Nolan Young's story.
Pipe Man Gone
Crews from Pipefusion have removed the controversial piece of art from the Muskoka River at the Huntsville Town Dock on Oct. 26.
Same Time Next Year
The Huntsville Theatre Company is getting ready to debut their first play of the season. Same Time Next Year opens Oct. 27 and runs until Nov.4 at Tawingo (click here for map). Tickets are only $25 and can be purchased online or at Treasures & Trophies. Same Time Next Year is directed by Greg Hancock and stars Teal Cochrane and Tom Welsh.
Huntsville getting ready for winter
The Town of Huntsville's public works department is preparing for the winter season ahead. Director of Operations Steve Hernen says they have made some changes to make winter maintenance more efficient.
Kiwanis Club of Huntsville Muskoka
Kiwanis Club has opened a chapter in Huntsville. The official grand opening was in Partners Hall on Oct. 13. It is the first new service club in Ontario in nearly 35 years. Kiwanis Club of Huntsville Muskoka's aim is to serve the youth across Muskoka. For more information on Kiwanis Club click here.
Canada 150 Making a Difference: Lyle Cathcart
Lyle Cathcart has been an avid member and volunteer of the Bracebridge community for over 70 years. Lyle's love for Bracebridge is what he says inspires him to continue volunteering.
Cathcart has been part of several groups including the Muskoka Shrine Club and Bracebridge Lions Club. He's received several awards and honours including 65 years of perfect attendance with The Lions. Cathcart is an example of what making a difference is all about.
Dara Howell receives funds her charity
Deerhurst Resort hosted a charity golf tournament to raise money for the Dara Howell Fund. The Muskoka Community Foundation oversees the fund that helps local young women excel in sports. The tournament raised $4,500 and Deerhurst is looking forward to hosting again on Aug. 19, 2018. For more information on the Muskoka Community Foundation and Dara's Fund, click here.
