The Kawartha String Orchestra (KSO) is pleased to present their annual spring concert on Sunday May 5 starting at 2pm at Emmanuel United Church (534 George St N, Peterborough). 

The theme of this year's spring concert is "Innovation and Tradition". Award-winning conductor and music director Tak Kwan and the KSO will play selections from Mozart, Elgar, BanYa, as well as the movie music of Hans Zimmer. Guest soloists include Tak Kwan (violin), Rebecca Birrell (vocals), Pamela Haskell (flute), Ron Kervin (percussion), and Karen Locklin (keyboard).

Admission is free; donations to YES Shelter for Youth and Families are gratefully accepted.

Local team from Peterborough fundraising for the Battlefield Bike Ride 2024 Normandy, France in support of Wounded Warriors Canada. Wounded Warriors is a national mental health charity for veterans, first responders and their families. Monthly euchre at the Peterborough Legion, third Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. $10 to play, no partner required, all skill levels welcome.10 euchre hands, 50/50 and may include raffle prizes and light snacks. A charity progressive euchre game in support of mental health programs run by Wounded Warriors Canada. Participants play euchre in a tournament-style format, moving from table to table after each round, allowing players to meet new opponents throughout the event. The Legion Bar will be open and light refreshments/snacks are provided at the end of the night. 7:00 pm start 10 games total. $10 per person to play, no partners required. Registration & 50/50 proceeds goes to Wounded Warriors Canada, a national mental health chairity with programs for veterans, first responders and their families.
