There has been some great changes for the Town of Parry Sound. Mayor Jamie MacGarvey reflects on this past year and what he hopes for 2019. 

The CP Holiday Train will be rolling through Parry Sound on Nov 30th. Here's the details.

The Town of Parry Sound is looking for public input on whether council should vote in favour of having a retail market for marijuana. The deadline to submit input is on Dec. 7. More information is available on the town's website. There will also be a public meeting to hear opinions on whether to permit or deny retail cannabis stores.  The public is invited to come speak to the issue on Dec. 18 at 7:00pm in the Council Chambers.

Canadore College West Parry Sound Campus has partnered with Parry Sound Public School to offer a program that aims to help enhance the social, mental and physical health of seniors. There are 10 sessions in total and registration is still open. The cost is free and you can register by calling 705-746-9222 or online at the Canadore College website. 

The Town of Parry Sound will ask residents to vote for or against fluoride, while voting for their next mayor and council on Oct. 22. 

The Parry Sound business community has been feeling the affects of false media reports that suggests the town was under an evacuation order following forest fires to the north. 

The 2018 Impact Awards presented by Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network and Muskoka Founders Circle was a great success.

The excitement is building in Parry Sound as former resident Mark Ideson is heading back to the Paralympic Games. A gold medalist in Sochi, Ideson will skip for team Canada's curling team.

The 4th annual Curlers Care Bonspiel in support of the Troops, Veterans and their Families took place in Parry Sound recently.
