The Lincoln County Community Fridge is now open daily from 7am-7pm at 160 Fourth Ave. in St. Catharines. With the help of 3 Lions Clubs and the Rotary Clubs of St. Catharines, Executive Director Kevin Strooband of the Lincoln County Humane Society was able to make his vision a reality. He joins Mike Balsom on The Source to talk about this great community initiative.

This summer join Women's place of South Niagara for a curbside "Mystery Box Book Sale." The sale will take place Sundays from July 11th - August 29th (except August 1st) at Apple Self Storage on Kent Avenue from 10am until 4pm.

The rising body count of Indigenous children as the investigation into residential schools continues has shed light on the treatment of all children under professional care. Rebecca talks about the about inequality and injustice.

Doug Hamilton, Chair of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games joins Mike Balsom in studio to give an update on construction progress at various venues. The Games will take place from August 6th - 21st, 2022 throughout Niagara.

In 2020, the Niagara Falls Community Outreach Soup Kitchen served close to 54,000 meals out of their location on St. Lawrence Avenue. This month they are running four food drives across the city to help stock their shelves. We welcome Bonnie Brady to The Source.

Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls was one of the first attractions to close when COVID hit, and will be one of the last to reopen. General Manager Keith Simmonds talked to Jennifer Wittig about their plans for a safe reopening in August and an upcoming Job Fair for those looking to join their pack!

Our very own Mike Balsom has officially retired from teaching at Laura Secord Secondary School at the District School Board of Niagara in St. Catharines. Friends and family sent in some funny clips to send off Mike in style!! Good news though, you can still see his face on YourTV Niagara...and some buses here and there. Congratulations Mike. You deserve it!

At the beginning of June, the Ontario Hockey League held the 2021 Priority Selection and the Niagara IceDogs selected sixteen players over the course of two days. The Dogs have signed four of those players already including second round pick, goaltender Joey Costanzo. Joey joined Mike on Zoom to discuss his thoughts on playing for Niagara this season.
